You Want To Reduce My Entire Work To Kissing - Bolaji Ogunmola Slams Critic Of Her Kissing Scene With Daniel Etim-Effiong
It is an intense time on social media for Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Bolaji Ogunmola, over her on-screen chemistry with her co-star, Daniel Etim-Effiong.
The actress was called out by an X user, who criticized her role in her new movie 'The Bloom After,' questioning the reason she only shared a kiss with Daniel Etim-Effiong and not the other actor, Anthony. The critic also warned her to tone down her on-screen chemistry, citing Yul Edochie and Judy Austin as an example of such previous act.
"To be honest, you and Daniel kissing movies is too much, and it’s looking like you guys are an item. Why didn’t you kiss the 1st guy, Anthony, in your new movie? Remember that was how Yul and Judy started. Feelings can develop. You guys should tune it down," the critic wrote.
Blowing hot over the tweet, Ogunmola labelled the critic as "an absolute retard," stating that tweeting stupidity was the individual's goal of seeing the movie.
Expressing her disdain, she stressed that her professionalism is being summed up to "kissing." Issuing a clarification, she emphasized that there are clear boundaries between her and her colleagues, noting how their conversation does not go past work.
She further reiterated that she is unbothered by opinions about her, however, she has not lost her dignity and self-respect, hence her strong boundaries with her colleagues.
She wrote: "You are an absolute retard!! You watched to tweet stupidity, and it shows. What is the entire film about, you nitwit!! You want to reduce my entire work to kissing. You are an absolute fool, and all of you are thinking like that. What foolish item? We don’t even talk outside of work!. You think because you lack boundaries and have no respect for yourself, everyone acts and carries themselves like that, you absolute fool.
“I don’t care what happened to any other actor… so of us have plenty of dignity and self-respect. Your opinion about things is a direct representation of who you are and what you stand for. Things I have learned: so many people aren’t professionals, and people lack strong boundaries and are cheats themselves if the situation enables them.
“The bloom after isn’t just another romance film. It’s about a woman finding herself after giving everything to a cause she believed in. We know an inara, there’s an inara on our street, in your office. Please share the film with them and remind them they are worthy."
