Cyberbullying: Angela Okorie Tenders Unreserved Apology To Mercy Johnson, Following Release From Prison
In a surprising move of reconciliation, Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie, has tendered an unreserved apology to her colleague, Mercy Johnson, following her release from prison.
Recall that The Nigerian Voice reported that Okorie was arrested in January by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja, over cyberbullying reported against her by her colleague, Mercy Johnson. After spending days in prison before being granted a bail, Angela Okorie finally regained her freedom.
Making her first social media appearance since her case, Okorie took to her Instagram page to share a viral video of her heartfelt apology to Mercy Johnson, while retracting her claims against her over the years.
She appreciated her fans for worrying about her, stating that she is unaware of what she has done to deserve the "massive love."
Expressing her sincere apology to Mercy Johnson, she revealed that several individuals informed her about bad things about her and her family; she, however, stated that she has no plans to listen to "cheap gossip," but would rather focus on her business.
Retracting some of her statements, she stated that Mercy Johnson is not a "witch" adding that she is different from what people call her.
She further extended a hand of friendship to the actress, revealing that they had both apologized to each other over the phone, and accepted their respective apologies wholeheartedly.
She wrote:
"I want to say a big thank you to all my fans around the world. I don’t know what I have done for you guys to show me this massive love.
I am not a perfect being, so this video is specifically for Mercy, her kids and family. As you grow, a lot of things will be leaving you. While in the industry, a lot of people were telling me about Mercy Johnson and others were badmouthing me to her.
At this age, I don’t think this is what I want. The only thing I want is to run a business. I am no longer listening to that cheap gossip.
I just want to apologise to you, if it’s just my words, I am deeply sorry. You’re not a witch; you aren’t what people are calling you. This is to say ‘I Am Sorry’.
We don’t know where our kids will meet each other tomorrow, and they can be best of friends, and we mothers can’t stop them from being friends. I am so sorry. I love everybody and am making peace with all men.
If I have offended you knowingly or unknowingly, I am sorry. Forgive Legit Queen, I am not a troublesome person. I am the sweetest soul you can see or meet in your life. I am deeply sorry.
Mercy, this is a new beginning. You’re my friend, and you’re still my friend. I will never listen to what anyone has to say about you. If there is anything I hear, I will give you a call. When we spoke on Uju’s phone, and you apologised to me, I accepted it wholeheartedly. I have nothing against you, and I love you. I pray God blesses you and lifts you higher, IJN."
