Court Restrains VDM, Doris Ogala From Speaking Or Writing About Doris Ogala

In a new development on the defamation suit filed by Pastor Chris Okafor against self-acclaimed activist VeryDarkMan, actress Doris Ogala and Kelvin Chimaobi Emmanuel, the judge of the Lagos High Court in Ikeja, Justice Akintunde Savage, has ruled that the trio should desist from mentioning the cleric's name and ministry in any social media platform.

The ruling which took place on Thursday in the suit ID/14399GCMW/2026 was in response to the suit filed by Chris Okafor against the three defendants: VDM, Ogala and Emmanuel, in the particular order.

The decision of the judge was an immediate restraining of the defendants, or any associate from making mention of Dr. Okafor's name, pictures, images, videos, including the name of his church, Grace Nation International, also known as Liberation City, in any form.

Additionally, the court emphasized that the defendants should desist from "publishing, releasing or circulating" any alleged "private materials" relating to Dr Okafor, including chats, conversations, text messages, photographs, images or videos, until the process of the suit is finalized.

The court also issued a restraining order against the trio, barring them from providing any materials that could be used in extortion or blackmail of the claimant to the public, until the final decision of the suit.

Furthermore, the court ordered substituted service of Dr Okafor's originating processes containing important information related to the case to be relied on through a newspaper advert publication, with the case eventually adjourned to February 2, 2026, for hearing.
