“The Sky Is Big Enough For All Of Us To Fly - Actress Omoborty Calls Out Unsupportive Colleagues

Nollywood actress, Biodun Okeowo, professionally known as Omoborty, has called out some unsupportive colleagues in the movie industry. The Yoruba actress, who expressed disdain and dissatisfaction with the actions of some of her colleagues, shared some of the unpleasant acts that she has faced from them.

In a post on her Instagram page, the actress stated that her post is specifically targeted at two categories of individuals in the movie industry. She began with actors who feature in movies, but refuse to support the producer during the promotion process of the movie. She described the act as “wickedness,” stressing that they are not God, blasting them for being unsupportive.

Calling out the second individuals, she stated that some colleagues in the movie industry refuse to support the projects of others. Citing an example of herself, she shared how she has promoted many movies, despite not being featured in them. She labelled those with the act as full of hate and envy.

Omoborty further praised those who support whenever they are called upon, and those who support without being called upon. She also added that those she called out should stop the hate.

She wrote: “I WANT TO ADDRESS TWO CATEGORIES OF PEOPLE IN MY INDUSTRY.

FIRST, ACTORS WHO FEATURE IN MOVIES BUT MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCER WHEN IT IS TIME FOR PROMOTION. YOU PEOPLE ARE NOT GOD O. ALL YOU ARE SHOWING IS HOW WICKED AND UNSUPPORTIVE YOU CAN BE.

SECOND, SOME COLLEAGUES WHO ARE EXTREMELY STINGY WITH SUPPORT. WITH MY FULL CHEST, I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY I HAVE PROMOTED MANY MOVIES I DID NOT EVEN FEATURE IN. I DID IT WILLINGLY BECAUSE SUPPORT COSTS NOTHING.

BUT SOME OF YOU ARE SO FULL OF HATE, ENVY, AND IWA OSHI THAT SUPPORTING OTHERS FEELS LIKE A BURDEN TO YOU. YOU SEE ANOTHER PERSON'S PROGRESS AS A THREAT INSTEAD OF INSPIRATION.

To the ones who show up when asked, and those who showed up without even being asked and genuinely supported, God bless you. The sky is big enough for all of us to fly. Stop the hate. Mtcheew!!!.”
