“I Can Choose To Practice Any Religion” - Jamiu Azeez Slams Critics Of His Decision To Celebrate New Year In White Garment Church

Nollywood actor, Jamiu Azeez, has finally addressed the criticisms that has trailed the viral video of his service in church in the new year.

The Yoruba actor, while celebrating the new year, shared a video of himself worshipping in a white garment church. However, his decision didn't sit down well with the public, who criticized him for practicing another religion despite being a Muslim.

Reacting to the immense criticism, the unconcerned actor, stated that Nigeria is the only country where the public is concerned about another person's life. He noted how people are having a say on the decision of a man in his 40s.

He shared how the comments following his white garment video have been vile and crazy, particularly on Facebook and blogs. Issuing a warning, he emphasized that no one will be accountable for his life.

Stressing further, he stated that his decision to practice any religion should not be anyone's problem.

He wrote:

“It’s only in Nigeria that people are so bothered about another person’s life.

Imagine telling a man in his 40s how to live his life.

I posted myself in a White Garment on the Cross Over night, and, man, the comments I have been reading in blogs, especially on Facebook, are crãzy.

Some even came to my DM to drag me, like bro, you will not be accountable for my life, oo.

I can choose to practice any religion, and that should not be anyone’s problem.

I never even come out to say I have converted oo.

Una wan kpai me.

No worry, I go wear Babalowo cloth tomorrow.”
