Skales Shares Breakthrough Moment In 2025, Appreciates God

Nigerian rapper, Raoul John Njeng, professionally known as Skales, has reminisced on the previous year, and the goodness that it brought upon his life. The singer, whose career saw a revival in 2025 could not hold back during the cross-over service into the new year.

Speaking during the cross-over service, Skales shared how the previous year was one filled with a lot of prayers and fasting for him. According to him, the year was one where he challenged God to bless him, and change his dwindling career.

The singer, however, noted how his major breakthrough came unexpectedly when Barcelona's youngster Lamine Yamal danced to his 2015 hit song ‘Shake Body,’ and that brought about the revitalization of his career and also put him back on the global scene.

He said: “Earlier this year [2025], I prayed a lot, I fasted a lot; I’ve never fasted like this year. I told God that he needed to bless me because I’m being laughed at and my career just looked funny. I wrote down seven prayer points, and all of them happened in one day. The one that changed my life was when a kid in Barcelona, Lamine Yamal, did a simple dance step to my song, and it went viral.”
