I Started My Career In 1996, Until 1999 Before I Made First 1 Million - Funke Akindele Reveals
Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has shared a revelation about the early days of her acting career.
The box-office queen shared a video on the popular microblogging platform, X formerly known as Twitter, revealing that she made it around 1999.
She explained that her acting career started off in 1996, with minor roles, auditions, and several rejections.
The award-winning star further shared that her major breakthrough came in 1999 after featuring in the hit series 'I Need To Know.'
According to her, the role earned her first N1 Million Naira, which she informed her mum first, paid her tithe, and changed her wardrobe.
She wrote: "I made that around 1999. I started my career from like 1996, playing waka pass roles, 1997 going for auditions, getting a lot of nos.
Then I got one big yes with I Need to Know, and that is how I got my first ₦1 million."
