I Didn't Feel Supported For A Long Time - Tems Opens Up On Early Days Of Musical Career 

Popular Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, has shared some of her struggles during her early days in the music industry.

The 'Love Me Jeje' crooner, made this known during a recent interview with CNN, stating that it was difficult for people to take her seriously as a producer and a singer.

She stressed that she didn't feel safe, and supported for a very long time.

Tems further added that she is keen on authenticity, stating that it's the only thing that she can't compromise on because that's all she has.

She said: “It was really hard to get people to take me seriously, not just as a producer, but as a singer. I didn’t feel safe, and I didn’t feel seen, and I didn’t feel supported for a very long time."

“Authenticity is everything to me. That’s the only thing I cannot compromise on because that’s all that I have, who I really am."
