Ebonyi Bishop Arrested For Alleged Marathon Sex With 22-Year-Old Sickle Cell Patient
The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested Bishop Ndibueze Onyagoziri Okorie, the General Overseer of Champion the Truth Cathedral, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 22-year-old female sickle cell patient.
Confirming the arrest of the bishop in Abakaliki on October 1st, following a sexual assault allegation, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Joshua Ukandu, stated, "The Bishop is with us here at the police headquarters, Abakaliki. I don’t have any other information; it is under investigation".
The victim, who is suffering from a blood-related illness, claimed in a viral video that she moved into the church for a "divine treatment" after a mutual agreement between the bishop and her family. However, she said her condition worsened. In a desperate attempt to be healed, she alleged the bishop promised her that a seven-day sexual encounter would change her genotype from SS to AA. She agreed, driven by her illness and the loss of three siblings to the same condition.
After the encounter, her health deteriorated further. She informed her sister, who insisted she come home. According to the victim, the bishop then repeatedly threatened to post nude photos of them together if she left, but she returned to her village anyway. Her nude photos were later posted on social media.
