‎I Didn't Have Access To Television - Singer Skales Recounts Humble Beginning

Popular Nigerian singer, Skales, has opened up about his humble and challenging childhood.

The singer, while Speaking on A TownHall Different Podcast, shared how his mum was a teacher, and they were struggling.

According to him, accomodation was tough, so they were living in a hut before getting a chance to live in the boys quarter.

He further shared that he never had access to television, and he got the major chance to see the television as he liked when he was signed to Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) record label.

He said: “My mum was a teacher, and we didn’t have much. We lived in a hut before moving to a BQ. We slept on the floor with mats and my mom would spread a wrapper on the floor and sleep. Coming from that kind of background to where I am today is just crazy.

“The first time I saw TV was when EME signed me. Like I had my own TV in my room. I used to switch it on and off in amazement."
