A Good Lawyer Should Be A Crisis Preventer Than A Crisis Manager - Stan Alieke
Popular Nigerian lawyer, Stan Alieke, has emphasized the quality that every good lawyer must possess.
The Abuja-based lawyer took to his Instagram story, to stress that any client whose lawyer always wants every case to go to court, should change the lawyer.
According to him, it is important for a good lawyer to know the time to be a mediator, negotiator, and when to be litigious, noting how a lawyer should not be aggressive in every situation.
He further emphasized that one important quality of a good lawyer is his ability to be a crisis preventer than a crisis manager, adding that going to court should always be the last resort.
He wrote: "If you have a lawyer that at every slightest issue he's advising you to go to court, you should change that lawyer. A good lawyer must know when to be diplomatic & be a mediator/ negotiator & also know when to be litigious- It's not in every instance that a lawyer should be aggressive. Also, a good lawyer should be more of a crisis preventer than a crisis manager; you nip the issue in the bud even before it happens because crisis prevention will always be better than its cure or management. A matter going to court should always be the last resort."
