‎I Only Became A Banker To Fulfill Late Father's Wish - Rapper CDQ

‎Nigerian rapper, Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, popularly known as CDQ, has opened up about how he was a banker, but didn't find fulfillment in the job.

‎ ‎The indigenous rapper, while speaking in a recent interview with the Echo Room, revealed that his main reason for becoming a banker was to fulfill his late father's wish.

‎ ‎He added that he was borrowing suits and clothes to go to work, but he never found any passion in the job, as during work hours, he was always drawn to writing lyrics.

‎ ‎He further stated that those signs made him take the decision to quit his banking job, and go into music full-time.

‎ ‎He said: ‎“I quit my bank job. I couldn’t tell my mother or any family member then. I left the house and went to stay with Masterkraft in the studio. I told him banking isn’t my passion. I will probably just do it to make ends meet. But music is something that whether it gives me a return-back or not, I’m still happy doing it."
