Mr Macaroni Explains What Fuels His Fearless Activism
Popular Nigerian activist, actor, and content creator, Adebowale Debo Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has opened up on the driving force behind his fearless activism.
According to reports, the tragedy that occurred at the Lekki Tollgate involving the #EndSARS protesters on October 20, 2020, saw many youths argue against the reopening of the tollgate.
Mr Macaroni, however, defied orders by joining a protest against the reopening of the Lekki tollgate, which eventually led to his arrest
Explaining his ordeal in the police custody in a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo. Mr Macaroni revealed that his ordeal in the prison removed every sort of fear, and motivatef him to keep fighting for the truth.
He recounted that he was molested, abused and treated badly in the prison, and that is why his contents are always emphasizing what he suffered, but it is not up to half of his experience in the prison.
"I feel I should be involved because God has given me the platform today, not to be popular, but so that I can use the platform to speak up for those that cannot speak for themselves. How can I ask others to make sacrifices that i am not willing to make.
“All the fear in me disappeared after that experience. That is the twist. It was after these guys tortured me and I saw the hate in their eyes, and how angry they were.
“The skit I made doesn’t do justice to what I experienced. I had to do it so that people could watch. I was completely naked. They stripped us naked and I was molested. They were happy and mentioning names. They were saying I was disturbing some people.”
