Toke Makinwa Sheds Light On Journey Into Acting

Popular Nigerian online personality and actress Toke Makinwa has shed light on how her journey as an actress started.

The actress revealed that she has worked on 5 movies since the beginning of the year and she is ready for. more roles in the second half of the year.

She wrote: "5 movies with yours truly, the second half of the year and I’m fully in my Acting Bag.

Thankful for growth, grateful for versatile
roles too. I’m really doing this guys."
Furthermore, she revealed the sacrifice she has had to make in order to put utmost attention on her acting career. She stated that she relocated to Los Angeles 3 years ago in order to focus more on her acting career, however she could not make it easily into the acting scene, but she is grateful for growth.

She wrote: “There has been a lot of sacrifice too. I’ve missed out on so much fun things happening but there’ll always be time to turn up some more. Once I commit to something, I chase it with everything.”

3 years ago I moved to LA with the thought of becoming the next Nigerian to break into the world of acting out there, I was so sure it was the next move, started taking classes too. God said not yet. But gave me room to grow back home.

I look back now and I’m thankful it didn’t happen cos I was not half as confident or even good or ready for the job. Today I’ve grown, I’m still learning but I’m much more confident. The dream is not wrong, the timing must be right to protect you."

Finally, she advised that those who also want to achieve things like her should be prepared for life's unplanned activities.

She wrote: "LAST ONE I PROMISE, TAKE YOURSELF OUT OF THE “CONTEXT” OF HOW YOU THINK YOUR LIFE WILL HAPPEN.

IT’S GOOD TO HAVE A PICTURE IN YOUR HEAD OF WHAT YOU WANT OR THINK YOU

SHOULD BE BUT LET GOD WORK IT OUT. LETGO, STAY FAITHFUL AND SHOW UP EXPECTANT."
