Flavour Agrees With Buju Banton About Afrobeats Artistes, Labels Them Lazy

Popular Nigerian highlife singer, Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour, has caused a stir after agreeing with Jamaican reggae icon, Buju Banton that afrobeats music lacks depth.

Recall that Buju Banton caused controversy after downplaying Afrobeats music, describing it as something that would easily fade with time.

Flavour, who has been emphasizing on not being an Afrobeats artiste in the past few days has surprisingly agreed with Buju Banton's claim regarding Afrobeats artistes.

Flavour made his take known in a recent episode of the ‘In My Opinion’ podcast, where he stated that Banton was not wrong about Afrobeats artiste and music.

He said: “I understand what Buju Banton is trying to say. Kids of today [present crop of afrobeats artists] don’t want stress; they just want to vibe."

"Maybe Buju Banton is trying to awaken our spirit.”
