OOU Students Threaten Amosun

Students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State, have vowed to stage a protest in the state if the governor, Ibikunle Amosun does not meet their demands.

At a press conference held on Monday, the Student Union Government ((SUG), in conjunction with the Joint Action Force (JAF), gave the government one week to reopen the school, fuming that failure to do so would lead to another massive protest at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, with the media on ground to cover it.

The aggrieved students agreed to send a letter to Amosun to convey the message to him and demanded that he further reduces the tuition fees not exceeding N50,000.

They also asked for proper funding of the university, re-instatement of over 3,000 dropped out students, completion of the hostel and the immediate transfer to the school management, total removal of all security operatives (SSS, OP-MESA, Police), non victimization of students or students' leaders.

The students’ leaders also asked the students to prepare for the protest if the government fails to meet the demands.
