Ali Baba’s bumper gift to the masses
Nigeria's numero uno stand-up comedian, Alleluia Atunyota Akpoborome, a.k.a Ali Baba plans to put smiles on the faces of millions of Nigerians soon.
According to his publicist, Olujuwon Bukunola-Philips, Ali Baba is set to start a weekly show soon, as part of the activities lined up to celebrate what he calls '20 years of redefinition of comedy in Nigeria'.
The toiling masses are the expected beneficiaries of this rare gesture that also attracts several prizes and gifts, such as microwaves, motorcycles, power generating sets, television sets, water dispensers, GSM phones, gas cookers, laptop computers, refrigerators, home theatres, sewing machines, window unit air conditioners, industrial fans, and N50,000 cash, among several others.
Tagged 'Ali and the 40 Gifts', the show will feature monthly raffle draws that will fetch a lucky winner a brand new car. In addition to this, a special segment to be chaperoned by a committee hand-picked by the ace comedian himself and titled SOS, guarantees that a few equally fortunate ordinary folk smile home with solutions in cash or kind to their most urgent needs.
Also the forthcoming show will feature musical performances by the likes of Timaya, Wande Coal, DJ zeez, Tuface, Face , Sound Sultan, Sunny Nneji, Midnight Crew, Terry G, Jaywon, Skuki, Werld MC,Omowunmi, Onyeka Onwenu, Kc Prest , Dare Art Alade, General Pype, 9ice ,Idris, and J Martins.
