Life for Premier Music Lanre Fakeye a..k.a. Shakomended artiste, never remained the same since his beloved wife of less than two years was tested and confirmed to be suffering from end-stage renal disease.

Tomilayo, the mother of one, was diagnosed of an End-Stage Chronic Kidney disease and requires an urgent kidney transplant which will gulp about six million naira (N6, 000,000) to enable her lead a normal, healthy life.

According to the Consultant Physician and Nephrologist at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH., Dr. M.O Mabayoje FMCP, “Mrs. Fakeye was (first) referred to this hospital in December 2005 for uncontrollable, severe hypertension. Her condition deteriorated and she now suffers end_stage renal disease. She will need to start maintenance dialysis or have a kidney transplant as her treatment.”

A little over half a million was raised by some concerned musicians last weekend at a Charity concert held at the De-Blue, LTV ground, Ikeja, Lagos.

And the artistes that were in attendance included .MC Basketmouth, MC Abbey, Koffi, Ras Kimono, Aju, Anny, Maye Hunter, Kaha, Mallam Spicy, Zdon Poparella, Buga, The Pulse, Justina and Frank De Nero.

Others were Spy Da Man, Onos, Chuddy K, Baba Nee, Oveestee, Mudina and The Nigerian Salsa dance group represented by Dagogo and Vodina and some up coming artistes.

In emotional laden voice, Lanre, who acknowledged the support of the media said, “It will be instructive to note that these artistes all played free while some like Anny donated their widows' mite.”

He noted however that the amount so far collected is a far cry from the required amount and appealed to kind hearted Nigerians to come to his aid.

“I do implore you to use your medium to aid my wife whose life is hanging on a thread. At this point, I am almost turning into an emotional wreck, not just because I love my wife but because my daughter needs her mother to grow up in a loving home. Please do see this as a clarion call to save a life. God bless you as you help,” he added.
