Make De No Increase School Fees: Lasu Students Express Fear, Call Pocolee

By Agboola Ibrahim

Lagos State University, LASU, students have expressed strong fears about the likelihood of the Tuition Fee being increased by the school management which may be as a consequence of the damages done to the school property at the recent violence in the school.

The Nigerian Voice reported that yesterday, July 13, 2023, Pocolee, the alumni of the institution organized a homecoming social event on campus where many top Nigerian celebrities were invited. The celebrities includes Bella Shmurda, Odumodu, Seyi Vibez, Mohbad, Hotkid, Young John, Ola Of Lagos Dollar, and a host of other celebrities.

Unfortunately, the event at Lasu which had a near-perfect beginning ended in chaos. A couple of fans who paid for the ticket were denied entry because of the limited space. The number of fans who turned up for the show was far bigger than the size of the event hall.

While the show proceeded in the Lasu event hall, the audience who were denied entry became furious and eventually took laws into their hands. Soon afterward, the atmosphere changed and the people started a small protest which ended up in the destruction of school property.

It consequently gave birth to relatively small physical violence as cultists and ruffians hijacked the scene.

In reaction to the vandalized school property, students are beginning to express awe about the possible consequence. This of course has caused the students of the institution to call Pocolee to come for their aid and clear the bill of the things that were damaged.

A post by an anonymous on one of the school groups read:

“make Pocolee sha come pay for the damages wet e cause for Buba Marwa. I no wan say de wan increase School fees”
