Nigerian UK-based producer, Ugonnaya Nwachukwu, has shown concern about the state and content that Nollywood releases to the international market.
Speaking with a national daily recent, She revealed that the problem that makes Nollywood become a displeasure to foreign audience is the issue of plagiarism.
She said, "There is so much we can do with some of the themes we explore. We need to work more on our stories. A lot of the films imitate Bollywood and Hollywood.
"It is not good when one is, for example, watching such films outside the country and some people are asking: 'Why are they imitating this and that?' Besides, issue of plagiarism may arise."
Nollywood has produced many movies that have been the adaption of foreign movies; Beyonce and Rihanna (Omotola Ekehinde, Nadia Buhari and |Jim Iyke), Drake vs Meek Mill (Van Vicker and Jim Iyke), Most Wanted (Regina Askia)
