NAFDAC TEAM UP WITH MONALISA’S FOUNDATION TO FIGHT UTERINE FIBRIOD
National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is partnering with Nollywood actress, Monalisa Chinda's Arise Monalisa Foundation (AMF) in the quest to create awareness about and fight the scourge of uterine fibroid ravishing women.
NAFDAC Director General, Paul Orhii confirmed the partnership saying, "We are proud to partner with the Arise Monalisa Foundation in mobilizing this timely project throughout the six geo-political zones in Nigeria, and this also marks the flag-off of our projects for this year."
Speaking at the headquarters of NAFDAC at Abuja, Monalisa said, "It is in giving our lives away that we find meaning... We appreciate NAFDAC for this strategic partnership as we look forward to propagating awareness of this fast spreading yet widely neglected uterine fibroid, which has become very common among women due to ignorance and stigmatization."
AMF is the actress' NGO project dedicated to safeguarding the health of women for eight years running, focusing on care for and providing a safe haven for the less priviledged, charitable periodic visits to prisons.
NAFDAC established in 1993 caters, monitor and regulates the manufacture, distribution and importation of consumable and health products in Nigeria.
