Queen Ure, Cynthia Morgan At War Over ‘Popori’
It is gradually turning into a war between two pretty female Nigerian music artistes, who have been enjoying media attention lately.
Few days ago, Queen Ure got an injunction from a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos restraining Cynthia Morgan, her affiliates, Radio DJs, TV stations, promoters and other agents from using the word 'Popori', which she claimed is an infringement on her (Queen Ure) copyright.
According to Ure, she has the sole right to use the word and accused Cynthia Morgan of using the same word without her consent or approval.
It would be recalled that Queen Ure released a single in 2012, which she titled 'Popori'. The song was in her 15-track album released in December 2012.
In 2014, two years after Queen Ure released her 'Popori's single, Cynthia Morgan released a song with the same title and Queen Ure is not happy about it.
Queen Ure says she has no personal grudge against Cynthia Morgan, but only wishes artistes have respect for each other.
But Cynthia Morgan, reacting to the issue, feels Queen Ure is taking the matter too far. She took a swipe at Queen Ure after receiving the court injunction saying, she is still trying to find out who 'Ure is cus google has got nothing on her.'
Cynthia Morgan is signed onto Northside Entertainment Ltd, which is owned by Jude Okoye. The label once had MayD as its artiste.
