4,000 VISITORS ARRIVE FOR 4TH ABUJA FILM FESTIVAL
Over four thousand visitors from various parts of the world have continued to storm Nigeria for the Fourth Abuja Film Festival that will take place at the Federal Capital Territory from Tuesday to Friday next week.
NollywoodReel gathered that the Abuja film festival, which is actually the biggest and most visited in Anglophone West Africa, will showcase the world's best contemporary shots, features, documentaries, animations etc.
The festival will screen all films in its international competition with English dialogue or English subtitles, and according to the coordinator of the festival, Fidelis Duker, there are also screenings of retrospective, such as the winning films of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
The fourth Abuja film festival is organised in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Information and Communication, Nigerian Film Corporation, National Film and Video Censors Board, Nigerian Copyright Commission, Nigerian Television Authority and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
Speaking with NollywoodReel on the event, Duker hinted that the festival is not only a platform of unity among Nigerian film stakeholders and their counterparts in other countries, but also affords film producers the opportunity to sell more copies.
“Some movies were released some years back that people in states like Zamfara could not see, but during this festival, you will discover that these old films get more demand, even more than the new ones, as the case may be,” Fidelis said.
