Jimmy Jean-Louis presents Lifetime Achievement Award to Danny Glover
Legendary African-American actor and 'Lethal Weapon' star Danny Glover picked up the top honour at the 2011 Afro-Caribbean Arts Awards on Monday. He was handed the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his career accomplishments and activist work for minority rights at the sixth annual ceremony in Paris' Theatre du Chatelet.
The star-studded audience included Haitian actor, Jimmy Jean-Louis who handed the Lifetime Achievement Awards to Danny Glover. Reggae star Alpha Blondy and French actor Stany Coppet were also in attendance. Afro-Caribbean Arts Awards is seen as an equivalent of the NAACP awards in USA.
The well deserving award to Danny Glover comes because of his support for the African and Caribbean film industries. Danny has been a great supporter of the AMAA Awards and has always found himself in Nigeria during the award to be a part of it.
Jimmy Jean-Louis is fast endearing himself to Nollywood since starring in a number world talked about movies. The actor who recently welcomed a new baby girl can be seen all across Nigeria starting Friday October 14th as he and Nollywood heartthrob Yemi Blaq open the AMAA Award winning movie SINKING SANDS in Nigerian cinemas.
