‘My Acting Career Is To Fulfil Childhood Fantasy’ ----Funke Akindele
FOLLOWING her lead role in the popular movie, Jenifa, star actress, Funke Akindele's life as a celebrity status has skyrocketed.
She admits she struggles to cope when she gets spotted by fans in the streets and sometimes wishes she could live a normal life. Nevertheless, she's not in denial about the fact that it has changed everything for her, considering where she's coming from.
All of a sudden, Funke who got her first shot in TV appearance on the set of American-born TV director, Lord Weaver's, “I need to know " claimed she never became an actress to be famous or rich, but an attempt to fulfil her childhood fantasy, "I'm acting because I've always loved to act as a child,” she said.
She said: “It was nice to be in a movie that dealt with the issue in a comical, classy way and that's the way I believe we can drive the point home." To many movie buffs, it's hard to believe that Funke could be a comedienne. If Jenifa was the beginning of stellar filmography for Funke, it was also the start of the kind of controversy that has hovered over her like a vulture eversince.
